Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #16 August 1937. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features a drawing of testing of the record high-speed motor boat The Blue Bird by Yevgeny Voyshvillo,a Russian artist,best known for his work in the field of book illustration and seascape graphics. The issue includes articles about X-rays and crystals; large and small water cycles on the globe; the development of aviation; atmospheric ozone; astudy of the salt resources of Lake Dzhaksy-Klych in Kazakhstan; anniversary of the launching of the first three-deck ship Sovereign of the Sea in 1637 in England in Woolwich; Luigi Galvani,an Italian physician,physicist,biologist,and philosopher,who discovered animal electricity; Malcolm Campbell,a British racing motorist,and motoring journalist; and other news accompanied by illustrations and schemes. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
