The book covers the life and art of famous Soviet artists Alexander Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanova and dedicated to the exhibition of their works in The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, and the Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna. Alexander Rodchenko was a Russian and Soviet artist, sculptor, photographer, and graphic designer. He was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design. Varvara Stepanova was a Russian artist, the wife of Rodchenko. She was also associated with the Constructivist branch of the Russian avant-garde, which rejected aesthetic values in favour of revolutionary ones. Her activities extended into propaganda, poetry, stage scenery, and textile designs. The book covers their art from the period from 1912 to the 1950s. The cover features the illustration of the poem About That by Vladimir Mayakovsky. Published by Prestel Publishing, Munich, 258 pages. Very good condition, creasing on the spine and cover.
