Set designs by N. Akimov’s advertising the St Petersburg play ‘Robespierre’ on the back cover. Monthly publication on the latest trends in theatre in the USSR. This edition includes articles on the ‘genuine rearmament’ in theatre, Romanticism and Realism, and a profile of the artist N. Akimov. List of some of the artwork inside: Scenes from the production ‘Poems on Axes’ in the Revolution Theatre by E. Shlepnov; scenes from the production ‘The Lone Builder’ in the B Korsh Theatre by P. G. Otshelli; various scenes from the different productions of ‘Bread’, taken from productions at Kaluga, Odessa and Tula. Very good condition, slight tear on the front cover and marks of wear along the spine, creases and folds on some of the top corners of some of the back pages, two faint pencil marks on the back cover. 33 pages.
