Original vintage Constructivist magazine Soviet Theatre, issue number 4, April, 1931. Printed in Moscow by Gos. Izdat. Hud. Lit and Pravda publishing house. Monthly magazine on recent developments in theatre in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph of Maxim Gorky, a Russian writer, and political activist with the inscription Greetings to Alexei Maksimovich! (Gorky's real name). The issue includes articles about the Moscow Art Theatre; the development of proletarian literature; theatrical figures Vishnevsky and Meyerhold; the play The Last Decisive; the theatre artist N. Akimov, accompanied by his drawings and costume sketches, and photographs. 33 pages. Poor condition, pages are loose, tears on the cover and some pages, browning.
