Original reference Avant-garde Book of the Soviet Children: Photoillustration and Photomontage in a Book for Children and Youth of the 1920s-30s by Mihail Karasik,a Russian artist,writer,and graphic artist. The publication is the first large-scale study of Soviet children's photobooks. The album includes 150 photo books,photomontages,and drawing covers. Each photobook is presented with a cover,several spreads,and a short essay about it. Children's photobooks are created by famous artists and photographers,such as Gustav Klutsis,Valentina Kulagina,Sergei Senkin,Solomon Telingater,Mikhail Tsekhanovskiy,Dmitry Debabov,Vladimir Gruntal,Arkady Shaikhet,Alisa Poret,Elizaveta Ignatovich,and others. Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
