The book is dedicated to The Red Army and Navy. Decorated by artists A Rodchenko and V Stepanova. Aleksander Rodchenko was a Russian artist,sculptor,photographer and graphic designer. He was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design; he was married to the artist Varvara Stepanova. Varvara Stepanova was a Russian artist associated with the Constructivist movement. Contains many photographs depicting the life of a soldier in different circumstances like training,exercising,studying,vacation activities,as well as photographs of artillery to show the power of different types of troops,especially the air force,armoured units,artillery,navy,but also the airborne troops,snipers,riflemen,cavalry troops chemical protection,etc. Contains tipped-in pictures of Lenin and Stalin,including a fold-out picture of Red Square during the celebration of the 1st of May. Published by State Art Publishers in USSR. Acceptable condition. Rubbings and discolouration of the cover. Loss of material on the spine and margins. Minor dust staining and tears on some pages. Pen handwriting on the flyleaf. Rusty staples.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
