"Physical Culture and Sports" was a weekly Soviet and Russian illustrated popular science,a literary and artistic magazine on current affairs of physical culture and sports. The first issue of the magazine was published in 1922. Initially,the magazine had a popular science focus. It periodically published articles on theoretical and methodological issues of various sports,but by the second half of the 1950s,after the start of the magazines such as "Athletics","Sports Games",and "Physical Culture at School",such articles disappeared from its contents. Constructivist cover by S Krasinsky. This issue's articles include "Champions or Professionals that We Need" by V Gerson,"Sportsman's Diary" by N Vasylich,"Tennis to the Masses" by I Solonevich,"How to Build a Simple Boat by Yourself" by F Shedling. Poor condition. Frayed spine,dust staining and rubbings,creases. A missing piece of material on the front page. Published by the publishing house "Physical Culture and Sports",1929. 14 pages.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
