"Life of Art" was a theatre,literature,film and art magazine. It was published weekly in Leningrad from 1923-1929,succeeding the newspaper of the same title. The magazine was issued by the Regional Department for Political Education and is replete with in-depth coverage of current movements and productions,mostly in Leningrad,with profiles of prominent actors and directors. This issue includes articles such as "Proletarian Literature in the Struggle for Style and School" by N Berkovsky,"Wolves and Sheeps" by L Shatov,"When Roosters Sing" by V Rode,"Screen" by A Razumovsky,"Turkmenian Theatre" by A Oblonsky. Tipped-in programme for the daily schedule of that week's local theatre,ballet,music and film events. Published by the "Tea Kino Pechat". Fair condition. Frayed spine reinforced with the staples. What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
