Soviet Magazine Red Field,issue number 27,1924. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. The front cover depicts a photo by Proletkino entitled "Fifth Congress of Comintern". This issue's artwork includes photo sketch by S Magaziner,front page illustration entitled "Noon" done by Petrov-Vodkin,illustrations by such artists as N Kasatkin,G Savitsky and illustrations by P Kuznetsov for the article "Paris". Pavel Varfolomevich Kuznetsov (1878–1968) was a Russian painter and graphic artist. His early paintings were exhibited by the Mir Iskusstva group,and he was closely associated with the Russian Symbolists. He helped to organize the Crimson Rose exhibition (1904) and was a founder and leader of the Blue Rose in 1907. He taught at the Stroganov Institute (1917–18; 1945-8) and at the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts (1918–37). He headed the painting section of Narkompros until 1921 but fell out of official favour with the advent of Socialist Realism. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK",90 000 copies. Page 655 is torn and detached,page 647 is reinforced with the clear tape.
