This book is seen to be one of the finest achievements of Russian avant-garde bookmaking,a tradition in which poets and artists collaborated to create books that attained the status of art objects. The third book is collection of essays about V. Mayakovsky and El Lissitzsky by Patricia Railing. Constructivist covers by El lissitzky for two books and cover of the third book is by Fre Ilgen,combining pictures of El Lissitzsky,V. Mayakovsky taken by A. Rodchenko in 1924. Published by The British Library. Very good condition,minor rubbings on the cover of the box and on the books. Shop sticker on the back cover of the box. Small pencil note of the inside cover of the third book.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
