Original vintage Soviet Magazine Krasnaya Niva / Red Field,issue number 49,December 1929. Krasnaya Niva was a biweekly magazine,first published by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union in 1922. The cover features an illustration "the Shift is Coming" ("Hammer and Sickle Factory") by N. Razhin,a Soviet painter,battle painter; author of genre paintings,and landscapes. This issue includes a story by Veresaev,a Russian and Soviet writer and translator; articles about textile production; foreign news; ten years of work of YCI (Young Communist International),the parallel international youth organization affiliated with the Communist International; about the life and works of Pushkin,a Russian poet,playwright,and novelist of the Romantic era; contemporary graphics; book reviews; advertising and others. Published by Glavlit,edited by Anatoly Lunacharsky,a Russian Marxist revolutionary and the first Bolshevik Soviet People's Commissar,24 pages. Fair condition,rusted staples,the cover is loose,tears on the cover and some pages,stain,minor foxing and creasing.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
