Set designs by N. Akimov’s advertising the St Petersburg play ‘Robespierre’ on the back cover. Monthly publication on the latest trends in theatre in the USSR. This edition includes articles on the ‘genuine rearmament’ in theatre,Romanticism and Realism,and a profile of the artist N. Akimov. List of some of the artwork inside: Scenes from the production ‘Poems on Axes’ in the Revolution Theatre by E. Shlepnov; scenes from the production ‘The Lone Builder’ in the B Korsh Theatre by P. G. Otshelli; various scenes from the different productions of ‘Bread’,taken from productions at Kaluga,Odessa and Tula. Very good condition,slight tear on the front cover and marks of wear along the spine,creases and folds on some of the top corners of some of the back pages,two faint pencil marks on the back cover. 33 pages.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity. 

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
