Original vintage Constructivist magazine Soviet Theatre,issue number 8,August,1931. Printed in Moscow by Gos. Izdat. Hud. Lit publishing house. Monthly magazine on recent developments on theatre in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph of Romain Rolland,a French dramatist,novelist,essayist,and art historian; on the back cover there is a sketch by Isaak Rabinovich of costumes for the production of the play Till in Nemirovich-Danchenko musical theatre. The issue includes articles about a visit of Bernard Shaw in the USSR; a theatre discussion in Leningrad; the goals of the theatre; the creation of the play "Pervaja konnaja"; the work of the director and actor with caricatures by the Kukryniksy; about the artist Isaak Rabinovich and his sketches of theatrical costumes,accompanied by photographs. 33 pages. Fair condition,holes in the front and back covers,tears on the spine,creasing,browning,adhesive label on the back.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
