USSR in Construction #10 1934
English language version of issue #10 1934 USSR in Construction. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR,published in Russian,French,English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is dedicated to the epic of the Soviet steamship SS Chelyuskin, which set out to the Arctic in 1933 in order to research what vessels would be able to travel the Northern maritime route along Siberia to the Bering Strait. The SS Chelyuskin was caught in icefields and sunk - the crew escaped onto the ice and were rescued two months later by plane. The issue featues a great montage of the homecoing of the crew, showing Stalin shaking hands with the crewmembers, with crowds in Red Square, the Kremlin, and Lenin's tomb in the background. Contains great photos of arctic expeditions, ice floes, aircraft and the rescue mission. El Lissitzy designed the composition, and it features artwork by Z Deyneka and Deni. Good condition, staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
