Soviet Constructivist magazine Worker and Theatre,issue number 3,19th January,1926. A weekly magazine giving updates about theatre,film music,radio and stage. First published in 1923,edited in Leningrad. A portrait of Lenin on the front cover by M Kurilko,advertisements for film and theatre on the back cover. This edition includes articles on the 'Cultural Revolution' and a comment article 'Romanticism or Flabbiness?'. There is also a section entitled 'Movie Screen' detailing the new films of the week and an article 'Cinema-Theatre Confusion'. List of some artwork inside: a painting 'Chang-Gitang' by M Z Levin; cartoons by N M Kocherin; a photograph of a scene from the film 'Flood',full page text poster for the upcoming first Russian action film Battleship Potemkin. Good condition,some stains on the front cover,spine slightly frayed. Bottom half of page 11-12 cut out. 32 pages.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
